# Bookchoy > Bookchoy is a Chinese-language learning app: a learning sidekick and spaced-repetition home for everything you want to remember. It's not a teacher or a replacement for tutors, Anki, or apps — it's a tool to understand Chinese and a place to save and review vocabulary captured from tutors, apps, books, shows, and conversations. Built by Steven Landow, a solo developer. Bookchoy lets you look up Chinese words and save them to a spaced-repetition system (SRS) for review, with flashcards and quizzes, tone and pronunciation practice, and handwriting practice. You can capture vocabulary from across the web with the Chrome extension (works on YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, iQiyi, and any webpage), from Neovim with the bookchoy.nvim plugin, and from the app itself. The mobile app lets you import any text or e-book to read and capture vocabulary from, test your pronunciation, learn handwriting. Bookchoy's SRS system is designed to be flexible and customizable. The mobile app has a library of word lists/review decks for topics and niches or HSK prep. It also has a curated library of original stories as well as a library of YouTube videos to watch with interactive subtitles. You can import your own YouTube videos too. ## Pages - [Home](https://bookchoy.app/): Overview of Bookchoy and what it does. - [About](https://bookchoy.app/about): The story behind Bookchoy and its philosophy as a learning sidekick. - [Blog](https://bookchoy.app/blog): Posts on features and Chinese-learning resources. - [Contact](https://bookchoy.app/contact): Feature requests, bug reports, and sharing study methods. - [Upgrade](https://bookchoy.app/upgrade): Subscription and upgrade options. ## Blog posts - [Flashcards](https://bookchoy.app/blog/flashcards): Flashcards are here!
